Rhotic Media has announced three new recruits who will work on editorial briefs for clients in Institutional and Retail Finance. They all start on Tuesday 6 April 2021:
Simon Watkins joins the Institutional Finance team from the Financial Conduct Authority where he was an editor responsible for the regulator’s thought leadership output. Prior to this he was the City editor at the Mail on Sunday between 2013-2017, having worked as markets editors and deputy city editor prior to that.
Brian Gorman will also be joining the Institutional Finance team, reporting to Nick Reeve. Most recently, he was a writer and analyst for Cerulli Associates, having spent five years at Reuters as an equities correspondent prior to that. Before Reuters, Brian worked on the City desk at The Scotsman for three years and as a commodities reporter at Bloomberg.
Sabuhi Gard will be joining the Retail Finance team. She was most recently digital content editor at Incisive Works – the content marketing arm of Incisive Media, where she worked on clients including Architas, JP Morgan, Pictet and Liontrust. Prior to that she worked for accounting software giant Sage as a content writer and as the finance editor for Yahoo UK.

Freelance Update - Lauren Cochrane

The Guardian’s Senior Fashion writer Lauren Cochrane has a new book, The Ten: the stories behind the Fashion Classics, coming out with Welbeck on 29 April. A social and cultural history of the 10 items we all wear every day, The Ten includes deep dive explorations into each item's history, how it gained its reputation, and what it means today, accompanied by stylish photography and illustrations as well as expert interviews ranging from A-Cold-Wall's Samuel Ross on the hoodie, Arthur Beale's owner on the Breton and Biba's Barbara Hulanicki on the miniskirt. Lauren has written widely on fashion and culture for Vogue, i-D, The Face, as well as The Guardian. She is available for interview, and to write features around the subjects in the book - and beyond.

Niall Julian
is a freelance motoring journalist and photographer and is available for automotive commissions, reviews, features and photoshoots. He is the Editor of the award-winning classic car website Take to the Road, which was founded in 2015. In addition, he is a regular contributor to Hagerty UK and the recently launched luxury and lifestyle publication 96 Magazine. Fanpage 
Francesco Cancellato
 is now Managing Director of the Italian online newspaper Fanpage, where he was previously Deputy Director and Editor-in-Chief. He succeeds Francesco Piccinini, who after eight years at the title is pursuing other goals with the publisher Ciaopeople. In addition, Fanpage’s Politics Editor Adriano Biondi has taken up the Deputy Director role in addition to his current responsibilities.

La Prealpina 
Daniele Bellasio
 is now Managing Director of the Italian regional newspaper La Prealpina, succeeding Maurizio Lucchini. Daniele is also the Director of CattolicaNews, the online magazine of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. He can be found on Twitter @dbellasio

RTL 102.5 
Luca Viscardi
 is now a Presenter for the Italian national radio station RTL 102.5. Luca, previously Station Manager at Radio Number One, will present the evening show ‘I Cervellini’ at 9pm every day.
