Alex Scroxton has been appointed Security Editor following the departure of Warwick Ashford. Alex is covering all areas of cyber security and information security, including government policy, data protection, privacy, and enterprise security.

Joe O’Halloran has joined the team to take over Alex’s previous role as Networking Editor. Joe is covering areas including enterprise networking, telecoms, broadband, mobile, internet of things and smart cities.

CNBC
Vicky McKeever has been appointed as a Reporter at CNBC, based in London, and will work on the Make It website covering lifestyle, work and money. Prior to this she was an Investment Reporter at Citywire.

Susan Watson, Celebrity Editor at DC Thomson, has returned from leave.

JOSHUA's Digital
The culture and lifestyle website JOSHUA's Digital has now been relaunched at the address joshuas.io. It covers a wide range of interests, from architecture and art, to motoring and style. The sporting title SAMSON is now included on the same platform. JOSHUSA's was first launched as a biannual magazine in 2012, and founder Eli Ankutse remains Editor of the platform. Anthony Elliott, based in Denmark, is Co-Editor.

Travel Media Awards 2019
The winners of the Travel Media Awards 2019 were announced this week. 21 publications, broadcasters, journalists and photographers were recognised, and the full list can be viewed at travelmediaawards.com/winners-2019. Categories covered a wide range of disciplines and media, from consumer travel magazines (both national and regional) to travel trade titles and guide books.

IBP Journalism Awards 2019
The nominations have now been announced for the IBP Annual National Journalism Awards for 2019. There are several new categories this year and all cover the built environment (architecture, construction, commercial property, housing and infrastructure). The grills will be at Shampers, 4 Kingly Street, W1, just off Regents Street at the Oxford Circus end, at 12.15 for a 12.45 start.

David Selves will give the guests a grilling after a mixed grill meal and the audience are invited to submit questions either in advance, which will have more chance of being called, or before the meal on the date. The questioners selected will be invited to put their question from the floor as a part of the grilling process. Tickets are £27.50 each.
