The World Economic Forum 2023 (16-20 January, Davos) brought government, business, and civic leaders together under the theme, 'Cooperation in a Fragmented World.’

Topics included the energy, climate and nature; investment, trade and infrastructure; frontier technologies and industry resilience; jobs, skills, social mobility and health; and geopolitical cooperation in a multipolar world.

Cision Insights explored the media trends and highlights to emerge from this year's event. Among the findings:

  • ‘Polycrisis’ is a common term as world leaders discuss complex global issues that are increasingly intertwined

  • Climate challenges continue to create pressure amid continued demonstrations from activists, such as Greta Thunberg, expressing a loss of faith in leaders at WEF

  • Ukraine remains top of mind as President Zelenskyy again generates the highest visibility among WEF speakers
