Journalists' Charity Wales Media Awards 2020
The Journalists’ Charity Wales Media Awards 2020 are open for entries. The free-to-enter Awards celebrate and promote great journalism in Wales - work produced in Wales, for an audience in Wales, by journalists, photographers and camera operators. The Awards will be presented in Cardiff on 20 March 2020 at a ceremony hosted by BBC Cymru Wales presenter Lucy Owen and ITV Cymru Wales’ Jonathan Hill. The closing date for entries is 5pm on Monday 4 November and shortlists will be announced in February 2020. More information can be found here

IBP Journalism Awards 2019
The nominations have now been announced for the IBP Annual National Journalism Awards for 2019. There are several new categories this year and all cover the built environment (architecture, construction, commercial property, housing and infrastructure). The full list of nominees can be viewed at www.ibp.org.uk/ibp-journalism-awards-2019-nominations. The winners will be announced on Thursday 28 November at the Four Seasons hotel in London.

The grills will be at Shampers, 4 Kingly Street, W1, just off Regents Street at the Oxford Circus end, at 12.15 for a 12.45 start. David Selves will give the guests a grilling after a mixed grill meal and the audience are invited to submit questions either in advance, which will have more chance of being called, or before the meal on the date. The questioners selected will be invited to put their question from the floor as a part of the grilling process. Tickets are £27.50 each.

Women in Journalism Seminar: Breaking the Class Ceiling
WIJ and the Journalists’ Charity are hosting the seminar 'Breaking the Class Ceiling: Has journalism become an industry for the elite? And what can be done about it?'. The panel includes Jane Martinson, Guardian media columnist, Majorie Deane, Professor of Financial Journalism at City, University London, Jem Collins, founder of JournoResourcesShingi Mararike, reporter, The Sunday Times, and the paper’s first ever apprentice, and Rozina Breen, Head of North, BBC England.

The seminar is on 19 November at Level 39, Reach, One Canada Sq, E 14 5AP. Doors open at 6:30pm, Aiming for a 7pm start. Tickets can be booked here
