There are hundreds of charities competing to get their stories and messages into the media. In this training morning, award-winning journalist Tom Parry and Nine Media co-founder, journalist and charity comms expert Karen Attwood will teach you the most effective ways to maximise your chances of getting coverage for your organisation from the field. This might be through content that your charity has collected and that you wish to pitch into the media, via press trips where journalists are taken to visit your programmes or by using your spokespeople effectively.
How to get your content from the field into the media covers the do’s and don’ts of getting stories and photographs your organisation has collected into the media, as well as techniques to find and contact journalists and publications which cover humanitarian issues.
What the media want from a spokesperson will explore how the media and the relationship with charity spokespeople.
How to organise a successful field trip has Tom and Karen using their own first-hand experience to explain how to organise the most effective press trips to the field.
