BBC Radio 4
BBC Radio 4 has commissioned a new debate series, The Today Debate, presented by Mishal Husain. Joined by expert guests in front of a live audience, The Today Debate will tackle topics in timely, reactive discussions. The first episode, The Today Debate: Turning The Economy Around, will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on Tuesday 26 July at 8pm and will be available on BBC Sounds.

(@annairrera) has joined Bloomberg’s Crypto team as a Senior Editor and can now be reached at her new email address. Anna is based in London and was previously Chief Fintech Correspondent at Reuters.

Daily Mirror
The Daily Mail’s Deputy Political Editor John Stevens has been appointed Political Editor of the Daily Mirror, effective in the autumn. John can be found on Twitter @johnestevens

The English Home
Suzanna Le Grove has returned to The English Home where she is now Features Editor. Suzanna, who worked for the title a few years ago, can once again be reached at her old email address.

Evening Standard
Nizaar Kinsella
(@NizaarKinsella) is now a Deputy Football Correspondent at the Evening Standard, joining the team from Goal.com. Nizaar covers Chelsea FC, London football and the England national team.

Future Plc
Fashion Journalist Julie Player (@julieplayerfashion) has taken up a part-time role with Future Plc in the fashion department, working across Woman&Home, Woman, Woman's Own, Woman’s Weekly and Chat. Julie works Mondays and Tuesdays and is available for freelance commissions the rest of the week.

Global, the media and entertainment group, has announced several high-profile promotions to Director of Broadcasting and Content, James Rea’s, senior team:
The teams responsible for artist relations, booking guests on Global’s radio brands and digital platforms, and booking acts for Global’s flagship events, will now be combined into one team under the leadership of new Group Head of Talent, Music and Artist Relations, Mark Findlay.
Ryan Hunter, currently Capital FM’s Deputy Managing Editor, has been promoted to Group Head of Brand Content, Events & Specials for Global Player.
Capital XTRA Programming Manager Lisa Cheung is promoted to Capital XTRA Deputy Managing Editor, reporting to Matt Deverson, Managing Editor of Capital XTRA.
Russ Evans joins James’ core team as Group Head of Music Programming. Russ will continue to oversee Heart’s music and will now expand his role to support Managing Editors in developing the music strategy and teams on all brands.
Classic FM and Smooth presenter Margherita Taylor MBE joins Global’s broadcast and content leadership team as Senior Talent & Content Advisor.

Marie Claire
There have been some new appointments to the Marie Claire team:
Sunil Makan has been appointed Editor and will be looking after content across Marie Claire. Sunil is covering fashion, beauty, fragrance and travel and is interested in hearing from new contributors to the title.
Alice Carter has been appointed Social Media Editor at Marie Claire and will be working on all social platforms.
Both will report into Andrea Thompson, Editor in Chief who oversees editorial strategy on all platforms and works on campaigns, brand partnerships, specials and events.

Northampton Chronicle & Echo
Katie Wheatley (@_katiewheatley) has joined the Northampton Chronicle & Echo as a Trainee Reporter after completing her journalism studies degree and NCTJ diploma at The University of Sheffield.

Semafor
Atlantic International Editor Prashant Rao (@prashantrao) will be joining Semafor as Senior Editor in London on August 15. Semafor is led by former BuzzFeed Editor-in-Chief and New York Times Media Columnist Ben Smith and launches in the autumn.

The Sun
The Sun has announced the following updates to its Consumer and Business teams:
Ashley Armstrong (@AArmstrong_says) has joined as Business Editor from The Times, where she was Retail Editor. She has relaunched The Sun's business page and her responsibilities including writing consumer and business news.
Sam Walker (@SamWalkerTheSUN) has joined as Consumer Reporter. He was formerly a Digital Reporter at Suffolk News.
James Flanders (@JamesFlanderss) has joined as Consumer Reporter from MoneySavingExpert where he was a News and Investigations Reporter.
Olivia Marshall (@LivMarshJourno) has joined as a Consumer Reporter. She was previously a Digital Reporter at The Argus.
William Nott (@will_nott1) has joined as a Consumer Reporter. He was previously a Senior Reporter at FE Week.
The other consumer team members are: 
Tara Evans (@TaraEvans) is Head of Consumer - she manages the Consumer team in the UK and Sun.com and all print and online coverage, as well as Sun Savers and the weekend Sun Money columns. She writes consumer news and features.
Holly Mead (@holly_mead_) has been promoted to Deputy Head of Consumer, previously she was Deputy Consumer Editor. Holly edits The Sun Money section online Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and writes for the print Sun Money weekend pages.
Leah Milner (@leahmilner) is Commissioning Editor at Sun Money and Sun Savers Editor.
Lynsey Barber (@LynseyBarber) has been promoted to Assistant Head of Consumer, she was previously Senior Consumer Reporter. She edits The Sun Money section online Monday and Tuesday.
Lucy Alderson (@LucyAJourno) is Senior Consumer Reporter. She writes consumer features and investigations, as well as our My First Home series and Squeeze Team reader advice column in print.
Chloe Stratton (@ChloeStratton98) is Editorial Assistant. She joined the team in the spring as a trainee.

Time Out
Huw Oliver (@HuwOliver) has been appointed UK Editor at Time Out, where he was previously International Commissioning Editor. Huw can continue to be reached at the same email address.

Freelance Update - Faima Bakar
Faima Bakar
(@FaimaBakar) will be available for freelance work from 1 August once she finishes her maternity cover role as a Senior Lifestyle Reporter at HuffPost. Faima can be commissioned for features, op-eds, interviews/profiles, comment pieces, podcasts etc.

Freelance Update - Madeline Crisp
Madeline Crisp (@discomad1_beautystilllife) has left her role as Multi Media Editor at Muddy Stilettos (Sussex) to return to freelance. She will be available for commissions, desk cover, consultancy, still-life styling and copywriting for both print & digital from August.
