1919
Scotland’s new justice and social affairs magazine, 1919, has published its first edition today. 1919 is a free monthly digital-only magazine, focusing on topics such as policing, crime, politics, public policy and current affairs. The magazine can be read at 1919magazine.co.uk

The Bookseller 
Mark Chandler 
(@Mark_Chandler) has been promoted from Senior Reporter to News Editor at The Bookseller, taking over from Acting News editor Benedicte Page (@benedictepage), who returns to her former position as The Bookseller’s Deputy Editor. In addition, Sian Bayley (@sleighbayley), previously at MyLondon, has joined the team as Senior Reporter.

 has joined the Dundalk Democrat as a Multimedia Reporter. Tadgh, who previously freelanced for TheJournal.ie, can be found on Twitter @TadghMcN

Bianca Nicole
has been promoted to Fashion Editor at Fword magazine, where she will be leading the fashion team, planning and creating content, editorials and features. Bianca can be found on Twitter @biiancanicole and Instagram @biiancanicole

Lucy Roxburgh
has joined Immediate Media as E-Commerce and Reviews Editor working across BBC Good Food and olive. Lucy was previously at Cedar Communications, where she was Acting Digital Editor for Tesco Real Food. Lucy can be found on Instagram @cookbydegrees

The Independent 
Hannah Fearn
 will be stepping down as Comment Editor of The Independent in October following her maternity leave. She will be continuing as a columnist and contributing writer but will be writing for other outlets and working on a few other projects as well. Hannah can be found on Twitter @hannahfearn

The River Group
The River Group has appointed Charlotte Hardie as Group Content Director. Charlotte has 20 years’ experience and a proven track record for developing industry-leading products and services. Prior to joining River, Charlotte was Group Content Director of Ascential’s flagship retail brand RWRC where she led a 30-strong team across content, marketing and product development.

Scotland on Sunday
Catherine Salmond
has been appointed Editor of Scotland on Sunday. Catherine, currently Live News Editor for The Scotsman and the Edinburgh Evening News, can be found on Twitter @SalmondSalmond

Showcall 
Showcall is a new online publication for theatre and the performing arts across the UK, providing news, feature articles and other information for theatre-goers and arts lovers. In its first phase of development, it is focusing on theatre in London, UK tours and digital theatre but it is growing its coverage of theatre around the country, with plans to extend into other areas of the performing arts. Alongside a back-office team keeping information up to date on shows and tickets, Mark Ludmon has been appointed as Editor to look after editorial including news, profiles and other feature articles. Mark is a freelance journalist with more than 20 years’ experience as a journalist and editor, working at regional daily newspapers and national magazines.
