Katy Harrington has been appointed Global Editor of AllBright’s new digital platform Edit, launching in April. She is interested in hearing pitches related to money, careers, health, well-being and lifestyle, as well as books, extracts, culture and interview opportunities. Katy is former Managing Editor at Refinery29 and a columnist for the Irish Sunday Independent with bylines in The Irish Times, the Irish Examiner, the Irish Independent and others.

The Big Issue
The Big Issue is to be sold in shops for the first time in its history. From today, Sainsbury’s will be the first major supermarket to stock magazine across the UK and online. And soon, newsagents McColl’s, Martin’s and RS McColl will carry The Big Issue in 1,400 stores nationwide.

PWR Media, publisher of The Chiswick Herald and Viestra Magazine, has launched the Borough of Hounslow Herald as a locally focused independent newspaper. Journalist Update - Tanith Carey
Parenting writer Tanith Carey is publishing her latest book, What's My Teenager Thinking? Practical Psychology for Modern Parents with clinical psychologist Dr Angharad Rudkin, on 14 May. The concept is a new departure, using both child and developmental psychology to view more than 100 everyday challenges with adolescents through the eyes of both teen and parent to help them understand each other. It also tackles issues which have not been addressed in previous books on teens. Tanith and Dr Rudkin are available for spin-off parenting features and interviews on teenage issues, as well as advice how to cope with the challenges of parenting during the COVID-19 crisis/lockdown. Erik Montalbán Pérez is now Economy Editor at the Spanish daily newspaper La Razón, where was previously an Economy Reporter. Erik has worked for La Razón for the past ten years.

AWOL Australia
AWOL Australia has temporarily re-branded as 'Activities WithOut Leaving' in a reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic. Originally a travel website, they now focus on activities that can keep people entertained at home.

Creative Mentor Network

The Creative Mentor Network is urging leaders across the creative industries to take part in a virtual mentoring initiative launching this week. Forty For Forty aims to pair 40 of the industry’s leaders with mentees with a passion for commercial creativity. Mentees will be representatives of a generation who currently miss out on opportunities due to the creative industry’s legacy around bias, when it comes to socioeconomic privilege and nepotism. CIJ Summer Conference
The Centre for Investigative Journalism Summer Conference has been cancelled. Originally due to take place 25-27 June, the next conference will now be in 2021. A scaled-down, online version of the 2020 conference is being planned, updates will be posted at tcij.org/summer-conference
