The new online features include enhanced ratings coverage, video and audio interviews from the industry, and a new weekly newsletter. The website can be viewed at broadcastnow.co.uk

The printing of Electronics Weekly magazine has been suspended temporarily, but digital editions of the next four issues will be distributed. Readers who have registered with the website can access the digital edition by clicking the image of the front cover of the magazine on the home page. The print publication will be resumed as soon as practicable.

The Orwell Prize for Journalism

The longlists have been announced for the Orwell Prizes for Journalism and Exposing Britain's Social Evils 2020. The full list can be viewed here. The shortlists for both prizes will be announced in mid-May and the winners of the prizes, which are both worth £3,000, will be unveiled on George Orwell’s birthday, Tuesday 25th June, together with the winner of The Orwell Prize for Political Writing and The Orwell Prize for Political Fiction.

National Press Awards 2019
The winners have been announced for the National Press Awards 2019. For the full list, go here.

The awards are in recognition of work published during 2019 and are organised by the Society of Editors (SoE). Ian Murray, executive director at the SoE and chair of the judges, said “While the battle to defeat the Covid-19 virus and support the UK public at this time eclipses all other considerations, I do feel it is important to ensure the hard work and professionalism shown by the national press during 2019 does not go unrecorded."

Anthony Howard Award 2020
The Anthony Howard Award for Young Journalists 2020 has been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. The award, which offers the winner two six-month fellowships with the political teams of the New Statesman and The Times, should reopen for entries in February 2021.
