Jen was previously Head of Food at Eye to Eye Media and Food Editor at delicious. She is interested in hearing about new food and drink launches, upcoming books, author/chef talent and foodie events.

Ali Lovett (@lovett_loves) has been appointed Houses Editor at Ideal Home. She will continue her work as a freelance interior stylist, writer, and weddings and events planner.

The Independent
Sophie Thompson (@sophxthompson) has been appointed Short Form Content Editor at The Independent, working specifically on indy100. In this newly created role she will be covering anything and everything with a video angle. Sophie will continue to freelance at Hearst (across Cosmopolitan, ELLE, and Harper's Bazaar), and remains Editor-in-Chief of BLUSH Magazine.

The Insurer
David Freitas is now an Associate Content Editor for The Insurer, working primarily on The Insurer TV.  Relevant press releases can be sent via email. David, previously a Reporter at Insurance Day, can be found on LinkedIn.

ITV
ITV has announced that ITV News UK Editor, Paul Brand, is to take over as the new presenter of the weekly current affairs programme Tonight. He will succeed ITV News at Ten anchor Julie Etchingham, who decided to step down from Tonight at the beginning of the year to concentrate on News at Ten and other major ITV documentary projects in the pipeline. Paul will now take over as lead presenter across the entire strand, around 40 editions a year, from April 2022. He will continue in his role as UK Editor at ITV News.

New Scientist
Catherine de Lange (@catdl) is taking on a new role as Magazine Editor at the New Scientist. Catherine has worked at the title for over eight years, most recently as Head of Features.  

Reuters
Pierre Briançon (@pierrebri), previously at Dow Jones, has returned to Reuters as a Columnist for Breakingviews, their professional service for agenda-setting financial insight. Pierre, who is based in London, will be covering European business and finance. Prior to Dow Jones he was a Paris correspondent for Politico Europe, following a first stint at Breakingviews as European Editor.

Tatler UK
Eliz Akdeniz (@elizakdeniz_) has been promoted from Editorial Assistant to Features Associate at Tatler UK. Eliz writes and researches for features in the print magazine, as well as regularly writing books content and reviews for their website.

Ed Cumming (@edcumming) is now a Senior Feature Writer for The Telegraph. Ed, previously freelance, can be reached via email.

Tortoise
Jasper Corbett (@senordelcorbett), previously Newsnight’s Assistant Editor, has joined Tortoise’s audio team as an Executive Editor.
Executive Producer Lewis Vickers (@lewisvickers) has also joined Tortoise this year; he was previously at Radio 4 and most recently at Times Radio.
