Freelance Update - Surena Chande


Channel 4 News
Channel 4 News has announced the presenting line up for its flagship evening bulletin along with plans for an expanded presence in Leeds, including a new presenter based in the city.
Krishnan Guru-Murthy will be the main anchor from the Channel 4 News studios in London. He will continue to host major live debates for Channel 4, in addition to his lead role on Unreported World and his popular weekly podcast, Ways to Change the World.
Cathy Newman, in addition to her presenting duties, will now also become the Channel 4 News Investigations Editor.
Matt Frei, presenter and Europe Editor will take the lead on major international stories as the main foreign presenter. Matt will continue to deliver long-form documentaries for the channel.
Jackie Long will remain a key part of the presenting team, alongside her role as Social Affairs Editor where she will also front audience programmes and specials to build on her groundbreaking reports in areas such as domestic abuse and youth violence.

Channel 5
Dan Walker
(@mrdanwalker) is to join Channel 5 News to present their daily 5pm programme. Dan currently presents BBC Breakfast and starts the new role in a few weeks.

Connor Stringer
(@connor_stringer) has been appointed as a Reporter for the Daily Mail, effective from April. Connor has been reporting for The Argus in Brighton since September 2020.

ERP Today
Giacomo Lee
has joined the enterprise tech title ERP Today as Deputy Editor, working across both print and digital. He was previously Themes Editor at Verdict. Giacomo can be found on LinkedIn.

Health Service Journal
Henry Anderson
recently joined the Health Service Journal as a Correspondent writing about NHS finance. He was previously a Reporter for the website healthandcare.scot. Henry can be found on Twitter @hmanderson39

The House
Sienna Rodgers
(@siennamarla) is joining The House magazine as Senior Writer, where she will be doing features and interviews. Sienna has served as Editor of LabourList since 2018.

Alex Roberts 
has been promoted to Content Lead. He will spearhead JOE’s editorial and social offering across its sport platforms, with a particular focus on boxing, MMA, rugby and fitness. Alex can be reached via email or on socials @alexj_roberts.

Assistant Entertainment Editor Rishma Dosani (@Rishma_Dosani) will be moving to New York to take on the role of US Assistant Entertainment Editor. Rishma can continue to be reached at the same email address.

PA Media
Louise Lazell
(@LouiseLazell) is now a Real Life Features Reporter at PA Media. Louise joined them from Essex Live, where she was a Senior Journalist.

Scala Radio
Scala Radio is set to make the following changes to its on-air schedule in mid-April:
Richard Allinson is officially joining Scala Radio, presenting his own show from Monday-Thursday (7pm-10pm). The three-hour programme will feature new classical releases, the Piano Playlist at 8pm and an hour of Mindfulness Music at 9pm. Richard’s first show will be on Tuesday 19 April.
Hannah Cox will now be hosting the Weekend Breakfast Show from 7am-10am on Saturday and Sunday. Hannah’s first Weekend Breakfast Shows will be on 23 and 24 April.
Jamie Crick will now be presenting a new Sunday afternoon show, The West End Weekend on Scala Radio, celebrating music from musicals. The first show will broadcast on Sunday 24 April from 5pm-6pm.

The Scottish Sun
Jack Aitchison
(@JackAitchison15) has been appointed Assistant Digital Editor at The Scottish Sun. Jack joins them from The Herald, where he was Live Editor.

Adam Williams
has been promoted to Money News Editor. He tweets at @adamfrwilliams
Isabelle Fraser is currently Acting Head of Personal Finance. She tweets at @izzyfraser
Indya Keen has joined as a Digital Sub-Editor. Indya joins the team from the Oxford Mail, where she was a Multimedia Journalist. She can be found on LinkedIn.

VICE (UK)
Daisy Jones
(@daisythejones), previously Commissioning Editor, has taken on the role of Culture Editor at VICE UK. Alongside culture commissions, she will still be commissioning a few pieces on life, internet culture, queerness, sex and relationships.

Correction: The Health Editor of woman&home is unchanged and remains Faye M Smith. Grace Walsh is Digital Health Editor of womanandhome.com.

Freelance Update - Surena Chande
